7 Purchases For Your Home That Buyers Never Regret

I once saw a stat in the LA Times that the average American household contains around 300,000 items. And every day it gets easier to ship stuff to our door which means, we most likely have even more than that.

Since we are filling up our homes with so much “stuff”, it’s essential that we do our best to make sure that we are buying items that are of good value and things we won’t quickly regret purchasing. That doesn’t necessarily mean buying the most expensive items out there. But it does mean we should choose products wisely. Here are seven purchases for your home that you won’t regret.

1. Window Treatments

Not only do window treatments make your home look way better, but they are also ridiculously functional. Most rooms in your home need varying levels of privacy which can be achieved with your window treatments whether you choose to go with blinds, curtains, or shades. Whether you decide to go with custom window treatments or buy off the rack at your local big box store, window treatments are a purchase for your home you will not regret. 2. Lighting

Chances are that when you moved into your home, there were some rooms with lighting that was less than ideal. Changing out the lighting is a simple way to make a room come alive. When a room is missing out on the right lighting, it makes it way less pleasant to work and hang out there. Adding a new fixture, new bulbs, or spots can make a world of a difference. 3. Rugs

Rugs are essential in rooms where you want to add coziness like a living room, playroom, or bedroom. Not only is it so nice to have a soft area to play, rugs instantly pull a room together and your living room couch will look so much better with one. For more info on rugs, click here.

4. A Good Quality Couch

A general rule about investing in your furniture is that items that you touch (such as couches and chairs) should be the pieces that you invest in. While items that you don’t touch (such as light fixtures) don’t need to be as good quality. Since a couch is not only being touched but slept on and jumped on, investing in a good one is something you won’t regret.

5. A Supportive Desk Chair

Another item that gets lots of use, especially in this age of work from home. If you do work from home often, this is the smartest investment you can make. If you have a bad desk chair, you’ll know it!

6. Sprucing Up the Kitchen

If your kitchen has so many issues that it just isn’t working for you, a kitchen update, (even a small one) would do wonders for you. Not only will cooking be less stressful and more enjoyable, but you will also make back a good chunk of your money when you sell. I’m not saying you need to rip out your whole kitchen and start from scratch (although if you would like to do that, you know who to call.) But what I am saying is that simply repainting your cabinets, replacing your old appliances, or getting a new sink can be all you need to make cooking fun again. That is something you definitely won’t regret.

7. A Good Mattress

A good night’s sleep is worth a lot. So if a low-quality mattress is preventing you from getting your ZZZs in, it may be time for an upgrade. If you can’t get comfortable on your current mattress, it’s sagging, or you sleep way better in a hotel, that means the time has come to invest in a new one.
