The 2026 Design Trends Edit: How to Style This Year’s Looks with Intention

Things have been a bit quiet here for the last few weeks during Yom Tov Season. But coming up for air after a break always gives me a fresh perspective on the “design itch” we all feel this time of year. It’s the perfect time to look at our homes with a bit more Intentionality.

2026 is bringing some bold movements to the forefront, but as a designer, my priority is always helping you distinguish between a fleeting fad and a Thoughtful investment. You don’t need to spend millions to have a space that feels Polished—you just need the Vision to style it right. Here is how to take this year’s top trends and give them a Bespoke-feel that lasts.

1. Master the Layer: Doing “Texture-Maxxing” with Intention

You’ve likely seen “Texture-Maxxing” all over your feed. It’s the art of layering varied materials—think bouclé, slatted wood, and tactile stone—to create a room that feels rich and cozy. When done poorly, it just feels like visual noise. When done right, it creates High-End Character. See how the room below has lots of texture but it feels homey? That’s the look were going for/

The Designer Secret: Stick to a Curated tonal palette. If you’re layering a chunky wool rug with linen pillows and wood accents, keep them within a tight color family (think warm mushrooms, soft oatmeals, or deep charcoals). When the colors are cohesive, the textures provide the interest without making the room feel cluttered. This is Attainable Sophistication at its best.

2. Balance the “Blob”: Styling Curved Furniture

Ultra-rounded furniture—the “bean” sofas and wavy mirrors—is still a major 2026 player. These pieces are incredible for softening the hard edges of a room, but a space full of “blobs” can feel a bit ungrounded. See how in the room below there are too many rounded edges? That’s what we want to stay away from.

The Designer Secret: Pair your curves with “Heritage” lines. Anchor a soft, curved sofa with a structured, clean-lined Pottery Barn coffee table or a classic wood chest. This mix of modern shapes and traditional structure ensures your home feels Bespoke and timeless, rather than a 2026 time capsule.

3. Elevate the Edit: Intentional Curation over “Filler”

We are officially moving away from “placeholder” decor. People are craving Intentional Living—which means saying goodbye to generic coffee table books and mass-produced marble chains that every showroom has. See how in the picture below there are books that actually seem interesting along with items that add warmth and texture? That’s what we want to achieve.

The Designer Secret: Use the “Rule of Three.” Instead of a dozen small trinkets, choose one Thoughtful tray (I love a good Target or HomeGoods run for this), a stack of books you actually enjoy, and one high-quality sculptural element. It’s about quality over quantity to achieve a Polished look that tells your specific story.
