An Inside Look at the E-Design Process

You may be wondering how exactly can an interior designer design my space without ever having stepped into my home? It’s a question I get asked a lot in fact. It’s definitely doable, albeit, a bit harder than full-service design.

Of course, each project is unique and has its own flow but this is generally what to expect with my E-design package.

STEP 1:

I’ll send you a style questionnaire to fill out which will tell me what you want out of the space, budget, etc. We’ll have a video consultation so I can meet you, get a feel for the space and go over the style questionnaire with you.

STEP 2:

Next, you’ll send measurements, details, and photos of the space (using our measuring guide). Using this information, I’ll make a detailed floorplan of the space. You will also send me some inspiration photos so I can get a feel for how you want the space to look. This will help me to “get inside your head” and figure out what your style is.

STEP 3:

I will take what I’ve learned about you and your style and turn it into a beautiful design for your home. I’ll start making selections and furniture plans. This part is definitely the most time-consuming part of a project and also the part where there is so much behind-the-scenes work. It can be hard since there aren’t always immediate results at this stage. But trust me, it will be worth the wait! You will receive your complete virtual design kit with your custom moodboard, furniture plan, and shopping list. You have 10 days to request any revisions. We’ll provide a few more options if anything didn’t hit the mark for you.

STEP 4:

You make it happen! You can do it all at once or drip by drip. It’s totally up to you! Alternatively, we can make the orders for you. We’ll have a follow-up call within 2 months to answer any questions you may have regarding installation.

I hope this post helps you understand the E- design process better and gives you the confidence you might be looking for to work with an interior designer.

My job isn’t to come take over your home with my ideas. Rather it is to curate a beautiful home together with you. My job is to help you choose the right pieces for your project and save you time and money by providing sound interior design advice. Are you ready to work on a project together?
