7 Simple Ways to Update Your Bathroom

Looking to refresh your bathroom but don’t have a ton of time or money to spend? Look not further! These simple ideas will help you update your bathroom in a couple of hours without breaking the bank.

1. Mirror

Getting a mirror in a more contemporary shape like this one can really update your bathroom. If you want it to match with your current hardware, it can but it’s definitely not a must. Mixed metals can give your bathroom flair. To size your mirror correctly, you should make sure it’s either the same size as your vanity or a few inches smaller.

2. Faucet

Getting a new faucet can be an inexpensive investment that can make a huge difference in your bathroom. Just make sure you get the right one for your vanity (4 inch centerset, single hole etc.) Also, a new shower head can make taking a shower the pleasure it should always be!

3. Paint

My favorite way to freshen up any space! A fresh coat of paint on your vanity or walls can do wonders for your bathroom! Make sure you get the right sheen for bathrooms (usually semi-gloss.) If you’re not sure, just ask at the paint store. Generally, bathrooms are on the smaller side and don’t get much natural light so I prefer to go with a light and bright color. Here are my favorite whites which will definitely help brighten your space. White is always a winner in a bathroom. If you’re looking for a different color, click here to download my free paint color guide.

5. Lighting

Switching up outdated vanity lighting can do wonders for your bathroom.  Check out this option that will work for almost any bathroom.

6. Shower curtain

A new shower curtain like this one or a new rod can make your bathroom go from blah to wonderful. Check out this one. I like it because it’s extra long and hanging your shower curtain higher up can make your bathroom feel larger and more majestic.

7. Hardware

Switching out hardware on your bathroom vanity can make a huge difference with very little effort! Here are my favorite hardware picks to update your bathroom.
