A young family buying their first house reached out to Interiors by Ahuva to help them with the gut renovation of their home. Renovations can be super fun since the possibilities are endless. But, they can also be super overwhelming since the possibilities are endless. So, I’ll take you through the process from beginning to end.
Project Location
This was an older home located in Wesley Hills, New York.
Client Wishlist
The client wanted to create a beautiful home without all the overwhelm and decision-making that come from a renovation project. The home had lots of beautiful wood ceilings that we opted to keep since they added so much character and warmth to the home. In keeping with what was already there, we went with a modern farmhouse vibe.
The Bathrooms
No interior design project would be complete without before pictures so here are some. As you can see, the before needed A LOT of work 🙂
The Design Process
The main spaces we were working on for this project were the house’s bathrooms. The home was built in 1968 and hadn’t undergone much change since then. So, we had our work cut out for us.
The client sent me photos of bathrooms that they loved and then we got to work. Together with the client, we chose tiles, paint colors, and vanities that fit the modern farmhouse theme. Of course, you can’t have a modern farmhouse space without subway tile! I created mood boards to make sure each element went well together and that we were achieving our client’s vision.
We chose options that all fit with the theme but each bathroom had its own flair. The focal point in the kids’ bathroom was the teal subway tile that we used to tile the shower. The main bathroom had more of a classy glam feel and the powder room was modern farmhouse with a pop of lavender.

After lots of shopping, installing, and hard work all around, everything came together. Our clients could finally move into their home and enjoy their space.
We enjoyed working with these clients to redesign their home from scratch.
