The Vision

The primary goal was simple: create a stunning, cohesive home without the endless second-guessing and costly trial-and-error that typically plague major renovations.

The 1968 home featured striking original wood ceilings full of warmth and architectural character. Rather than ripping them out, we chose to honor them, anchoring the design in a modern farmhouse aesthetic that blended seamlessly with the home’s original elements.

The Design Process

Our main focus for this phase centered on the home’s bathrooms, which had remained largely untouched since 1968.

We began with a collaborative vision phase where the client shared reference imagery of spaces they loved. From there, we curated a harmonious palette of tiles, paint colors, and vanities tailored to the modern farmhouse theme—punctuated, of course, by classic subway tile. Through detailed mood boards, every element was tested for scale, texture, and visual flow before a single tile was laid.

While each space shared a cohesive design thread, individual bathrooms were given their own distinct personality:

• The Kids’ Bathroom: Anchored by striking teal subway tile wrapping the shower for a playful yet tailored punch.
• The Primary Bathroom: Elevated with a more sophisticated, classy glam feel.
• The Powder Room: Styled with a refined modern farmhouse aesthetic, finished with a thoughtful pop of lavender.

The After

After months of coordination, material sourcing, and hard work, the vision came to life. The family stepped into a completely transformed, deeply personal home built to handle daily life with effortless style.
